HUMPHEAD WRASSE POPULATIONS IN SABAH AND SARAWAK
OTHER FISH POPULATIONS AROUND SABAH:

Look at the huge differences in the numbers of fish per kilometre in fished and lightly fished areas. The fact that no Humphead wrasse were seen in Sarawak possibly indicates that the cyanide fishers were active in the area before the survey was done. See 'Humphead wrasse biology & populations on protected reefs'.
The population at Sipadan (lower right star) is probably 75 fish and at Pulau Layang Layang (top star) is approximately 350 fish. |
